Nurturing Myself Forward
Small steps in a work in progress!
Nurturing myself forward as a work in progress is a theme for me this week. I am taking small steps, adjusting as I go, learning about publishing and book marketing. And more importantly, learning how to stay in balance as I go.
Sleep, Spiritual Exercises and More
I must sleep, sit myself down for spiritual exercises, scratch my creative ideas on paper at all hours, and show up for the practice of writing. It is important to maintain my loving relationships, starting with myself, then my husband, family and friends. Pets are important. We have four and they all need attention! The house and yard? Definitely a lower priority. Previous activities like reading fiction, sewing and crafts are not on my radar because my creativity flows into words.
Doing and Being
Those are some key doing aspects of my life.
But even more crucial are my inner peace and balance, and my loving and gratitude. I want to move forward in joy and harmony.
Hassles and Challenges
Sure, there are challenges. I just had a solid week of multiple hassles each day, including missed appointments, scrambled communications, and minor injuries. There were lots of things I did not like in the moment.
Positive Focus
In the midst of all that, I still had a good time. It was a weird week. But I kept a focus on taking care of myself, forgiving myself for my part in the missteps, and accepting the things that were out of my control. My positive focus helped me stay balanced.
How Are You Nurturing Yourself as a Work in Progress?
How are you taking care of yourself in the midst of your challenges? What is your bottom line for nurturing yourself forward? How do you pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and love yourself into your next steps?
Four Keys for Nurturing Yourself Forward
- Being is more important than doing. Take time to focus inwardly and stay centered.
- Gratitude helps you stay centered. Be grateful for the good things, but also for the challenges that help you to learn and grow. Find reasons to be grateful.
- Forgive yourself. If you are judging or criticizing, actively forgive and move into compassion for yourself.
- Keep taking small steps forward. Acknowledge your progress, your learning, growth and expanding consciousness.
Let me know how it goes!
